What’s Cookin’ Thursday: Nutella Lava Brownies

(This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please read my full disclosure.)

I tweeted something about the Nutella Lava Brownies from That’s Mellifluous I made about three months ago, a few days before I took the test that showed the BFP. I meant to write a post about them that week, but the Thursday came and we had some crazy weather. For the first time ever I found myself being told my area was under a Tornado Warning. Not a watch. A warning. Meaning, a tornado was spotted and I’d better take cover. (I intend to write about this at some point because it was a moment when I realized my priorities in life have definitely changed.) Between that craziness and the craziness of seeing the BFP the next day and eating so many of these that the thought of brownies or Nutella has made me ill, this post has just been sitting in the back of my brain. Nagging me.

The thought of these still makes me feel queasy (sad, I know — I blame it on the pregnancy). But at the time they were delicious. Hence why I ate almost all of them in a day. But I really want to share this now because a few of you asked me to when I tweeted about them. I figure it’s about time I did that for you!

You will need:

1 box of brownie mix plus the ingredients you need to make them
1 jar of Nutella
Muffin tin

What to do:

  1. Preheat the oven according to the brownie mix instructions. Then make the brownies per the instructions on the box.
  2. Pour some of the brownie batter into each muffin holes. I think I filled mine about 3/4 full.
  3. Add a dollop of Nutella on top of the batter. I used about a tablespoon, but I might use a little less next time.
  4. Pour more brownie batter on top of the Nutella dollops.
  5. Bake according to the instructions.

These brownies are best right out of the oven. They are gooey, messy, and delicious. Not to mention the easiest dessert I have ever made!Whats Cookin Thursdays
