Fall Bucket List: 2015

Happy First Day of Fall, y’all!

I love it when the first day of fall feels like fall. It was so nice getting the boys strapped into their car seats without breaking into a nasty sweat this morning.

One of the list prompts for my #30Lists challenge was On My Spring/Fall Bucket List. I wrote my thoughts down and realized later there’s quite a bit I’d like to accomplish this season:

Visit a pumpkin patch. I recently learned of a new one near my in-law’s that I’d like to visit.

Carve pumpkins. This usually ends up being a project that only Mr Boots and I partake in; G doesn’t seem to like scooping out pumpkin guts. L should be old enough to “help” instead of eat pumpkin this year.

Drink hot apple cider. I’m not a pumpkin spice latte girl. The idea of drinking a pumpkin flavored drink grosses me out. I’d much rather have hot apple cider instead!

Finish my storage chest makeover. We bought a small storage chest last year that I haven’t had the time to work on. It was cold. Then I needed an electric sander. Then it was too hot to work outside. Now that G is in school and the weather is cooler, I’m hoping I can finish its makeover so I can get it out of the garage. (SEE THE MAKEOVER HERE!)

Run a 5K. I ran my first 5K a couple of weekends ago even though I hadn’t finished my C25K program. I had fun and I’d like a reason to finish the program, so I’m planning on signing up for our city’s Turkey Trot that will be held on Thanksgiving.

Visit the Zoo. I actually want to do this on my birthday, but it sounds like the majority of the people who speak in my family want to go to the State Fair that day instead.

Go to the State Fair. I entered five photographs in the Adult Arts and Crafts contest and I’m really curious to see how mine compared to the other entries. That’s really the only reason why I’d want to go this year.

Go see The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. I cannot wait for this movie to come out! Hopefully I can turn this into a lunch or dinner date with Mr Boots.

Take a walk down the local bike path to take pictures. The leaves started changing and falling a few weeks ago and I cannot wait to see how all the trees look once the majority of their leaves change color.

What is on your fall bucket list this year?

  1. Just reading this made me eager for all things fall! It’s my favorite time of the year. 🙂 Sounds like you have some great things planned for this season with your family. Hopefully you have fun on your birthday, even if you don’t get to visit the zoo like you would prefer. Your family is lucky you love them enough to sacrifice that. 🙂

  2. There are some great ideas here. Running a 5k, visiting a pumpkin patch and carving pumpkins are definitely on my list too. Also, playing in the leaves with my kids. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I love your ideas for fall activities! I’m looking forward to visiting a pumpkin patch this year too. I also want to attend a fall festival of some kind. Visiting from #weekendblogshare

  4. I also love fall! The whole season is just…delicious somehow! I must give my bucket list some thought. I like the idea of creating a season by season one.:) Enjoy your fall and may you do all you set out to accomplish!
