Bumpdate Muddybootsanddiamonds.comEEK! I’m in the third trimester! It’s probably a good thing too — I’ve started getting very uncomfortable. I am glad that I’ve managed to enjoy the majority of my second trimester. It was so much more enjoyable than G’s second trimester since I wasn’t fighting illnesses the entire time.

Last week I was having dizzy and nausea spells and I’ve been oh so exhausted the last couple weeks. My blood pressure rose into the 130s which freaked me out (it seems to be doing ok now). I did too much helping Hubby with home improvement stuff (sanding, all it took was sanding) and woke up with pelvic and back pain that never went away. I went grocery shopping and had to unload the groceries myself and started having back paint that wrapped around my waist and belly. I spent a good deal of the rest of the day in bed. Luckily that seemed to work and yesterday I started wearing my belly support brace which really seems to make a difference.

Sunday I also had the pleasure of peeing in a jug for my 24-hour urine baseline test for pre-eclampsia. I was getting pretty good at peeing directly into the jug, instead of a cup which I poured into the jug. But that art was soon lost on me when I had to pee at 1am, 6am, and 7:30am when I was rushing to get ready for the day. I’m glad it’s finally done and we’ll have something to refer to if I have blood pressure issues in the coming weeks, especially since I’ve seen my pressure rise a few times.

Last Tuesday I had my glucose test. I’m gestational diabetes-free, yay! But I’m anemic. I was actually hoping for that diagnosis since it best described my dizzy and nausea spells. I think I’m worse than I was when I was pregnant with G; I have to take two iron pills a day this time vs. the one I had to take when I was pregnant with G.

I’m feeling it is crunch time and time for me to start demanding other people help me get things done.

How far along: 28 weeks 1 day!

How big is baby: small head of cabbage. I’ve also read he’s the size of a chihuahua now. I find that to be a little more relatable.

I have been feeling: Tired. Headaches. Morning sickness. Round ligament pain. Gas. Constipation. Forgetfulness. Stuffy nose. Shortness of breath. Backache. Dizziness. Insomnia. Heartburn. Lots of peeing. Discharge. Braxton Hicks. Mild leg cramps. Exhaustion.

Total weight gain/loss? Up 18lbs from where I started when I got my positive test.

Maternity clothes? Officially maternity shirts, but even they ride up and expose my belly. The BeMaternity spandex undershirt/tank things are awesome and I need to wear one most of the time to keep my belly from being exposed.

Sleep? It’s hard! I’m sleeping in a nest of pillows now and I’m starting to find that I need two pillows between my legs or my pelvis hurts when I try and move.

Best moment this week? Getting the nursery painted and furniture-ready!

Food cravings? Coke (a-cola). Fries.

Food aversions? meat, cheese.

Gender? BOY!

Labor signs? No

Belly button in or out? still in with a belly button ring!

What I miss? (still) Time to myself.

What I’m looking forward to? Seeing some friends on Saturday. Also, Hubby’s company Holiday party, but only because we’re staying at the hotel so it will hopefully feel like a getaway.

I’m worried about: Being too busy to know the baby isn’t moving

Bump? YES!
