When I signed up to be a team leader for Climb Out of the Darkness, June seemed like such a long time away. But now it’s here, and things are really starting to roll.
Our first team fundraising event starts today and runs through May 5. It’s at the SweetFrog at Eagle Village. If you live/work in/near Fredericksburg, we’d love your support. Just tell the person ringing you up that you support Postpartum Progress and a percentage of your purchase will go to Postpartum Progress. If you’d rather show them a flyer, you can find it on our team’s Facebook page. We’re going to be holding another SweetFrog fundraiser in June the week before our Climb event.
Have I mentioned that I’ve coordinated things with Tugg.com to bring the documentary Dark Side of the Full Moon to a local theater? I can’t remember. But I have! It’s contingent on selling 84 tickets between May 5 and June 1. I have been printing, signing, and addressing letters to therapists, doctors, nurses, OBs, midwives, behavioral health centers between Loudon County and Richmond letting them know about the screening. I’m really, really hoping that all pays off. If we sell the tickets, the screening will be held on June 9 at 7:30pm. If you or someone you know works in healthcare or works closely with new moms and babies, this is a must see. Screenings are being held all over the country, so check out their website to see if there is a screening near you.
June will also be exciting because I’m going to host my very first give away here on my blog to spread the word about Climb Out of the Darkness and perinatal mood disorders. So far I have two necklaces from Silpada, and I’m working on getting one or two more items to add to the pot. Hopefully that happens. The giveaway will run June 1-20 and will be open to anyone in the US.
